delight yourself in the Lord and he would give you the desires of your heart

There is something that seems to be necessary before  God can grant you that which you desire, which would be delighting in God (psalm 37:4). To also receive our desires, we must commit our ways to him (psalm 37:5) that means we are committed to following him and  obeying him,  God never blesses anyone who doesn't strive to live a life of holiness. None of us would live it perfectly of course but we should endeavor to live as if we are committed to God and his purposes , and that would be well pleasing to God.
