Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu is said to have caused a mild drama during a court visit today, February 9, 2016, when he refused to take off his handcuffs.

Kanu, who appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja, initially refused to come out of the prison van which conveyed him to the court premises, Vanguard reports.

He was eventually convinced to disembark by his lawyer,Chuks Mouma who was invited by prison officials to intervene.

However, upon entering the court, he made another scene by refusing to take off the handcuffs.

Kanu, who is also the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), is facing charges of treason and is currently being held at the Kuje Prison in Abuja after being refused bailby the court.

The presiding judge said, while denying the Biafra leader bail, that Kanu and his cohorts had not shown remorse for the actions which landed them in detention but had instead focused their defence on justifying their actions.

Meanwhile, IPOB has accused the Federal Government oflinking it with a recent ship hijacking in a bid to ensure Kanu’s perpetual imprisonment
