Boy, nine, dies from virus after complaining of a cold after trip to his local swimming baths

A nine-year-old boy was found dead in his bedroom by his devastated mother hours after being stricken by a mystery virus.

Otis Webster, from Leeds, started complaining of suffering a cold the day after enjoying a trip to his localswimming baths.

The following evening, his mother, who had kept him off school that day, found him lifeless in his room.

Andy Lowley, 47, who is separated from Otis' mother, Beverley Webster, 46, paid tribute to his "proper little boy" and praised medical staff for their desperate attempts to save him.
