Man defiles daughter, infects her with HIV
Police in Embu East, Kenya are holding a 40-year-old man from Magaca Village for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old daughter and infecting her with HIV.
Embu East Administration Police Commandant Charles Machinji confirmed the incident saying the suspect had been defiling his daughter since last year, adding that his wife has a mental illness.
Machinji added that the girl could no longer stand the act and reported the matter to the area chief.
Upon examination, the victim was found to have contracted sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and the HIV virus.
Police then launched a manhunt for the man who had taken off after learning that police were on his trail. He was later apprehended and locked up at the Runyenjes Police Station before being arraigned in court.
This comes just one day after a family in Kisii appealed for justice after a police officer allegedly defiled their daughter.
According to the family members, their attempts to bring the policeman to justice has faced opposition from his colleagues in the region. They are now asking the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett to help.
