Nigerian man killed by a lorry after storming out of car during row with his wife

A Nigerian man was killed on a motorway after getting out of a car on the way to the airport after a fight with his wife over their credit card.

Nahinmu Nicholas had stormed out of the Ford Focus with his suitcases, saying he was going to hitch-hike to Heathrow, but was knocked down by a lorry in the morning darkness.
His wife had pulled over on what they both thought was the hard shoulder of the M25, not realising that it was a live lane because of roadworks. A coroner was told that lorry driver Martin Hook was unable to avoid Mr Nicholas as he suddenly caught sight of him.
His 13-tonne bread lorry also struck the couple’s car in the accident just six minutes after they had stopped on the clockwise carriageway of the M25 at junction 6 for Godstone,  Surrey, at around 4.30am on April 10.
Florence Olokun-Ola told the inquest in Woking, Surrey, that her husband was going to Nigeria alone for 12 days and that the fight started because she wanted their bank card while he was away. ‘The argument became very aggressive and his voice changed,’ she added.

Mrs Olokun-Ola, who had earlier told how financial problems had caused tension in their relationship, said she no longer felt comfortable driving and pulled over to what she thought was the hard shoulder.
She added: ‘He took off his seat belt. As soon as the car stopped he took the keys and opened the boot and took out his luggage. He put it by the crash barrier.’
In an attempt to get her husband back in the car Mrs Olokun-Ola drove forward a bit, but he started to walk back down the carriageway  trying to thumb a lift.

Then she felt the force of the  collision as the lorry struck the rear of her car.
‘I got out the car and at first I was angry because he didn’t come  running over to see if I was okay,’ she said. She then discovered her  husband’s body and ran back to the car to dial 999.
Mr Hook said he was travelling through the roadworks at 50mph. ‘The next thing I knew was there was a dark shadow in front of me,’ he added. ‘I turned straight away to the centre of the carriageway.’
A post-mortem examination  concluded that Mr Nicholas died as a result of severe head injuries.

Accident reconstruction officer PC Dominic Gibson said that the stretch of the M25 where the accident  happened was unlit. He said there were signs warning that the hard shoulder was now a live lane.

Assistant Surrey Coroner Michael Burgess recorded a verdict that Mr Nicholas, of Dartford, Kent, died as a result of a road traffic collision.

Jackson Family to Dr. Conrad Murray: You Delusional LIAR!

Michael Jackson's family is, understandably and not surprisingly, far from pleased with Dr. Conrad Murray and his recent interview with the Daily Mail.

Among other things, Murray claimed that Jackson was incontinent and that he used to hold Michael's penis every night to fit a condom on him.

In the interview, he protested: “You want to know how close Michael and I were? I held his penis every night. I had to put a condom catheter on him."

"Michael dripped urine. He had a loss of sensation and was incontinent," Dr. Conrad Murray added. "It was the most intimate thing but he trusted me.”

The claims have incensed the legendary Jacksons and the singer's friends.

This serves as more evidence that the late singer’s former personal physician had questionable medical practices, and morals, the family believes.

“Conrad is delusional, ok? Let’s not forget that,” said a source in the family.

“Of course he needed a catheter as Murray was knocking him out for hours using Propofol. Had Conrad not used a catheter, Michael could have gone into kidney failure."

"Given that Conrad gave Michael one handed CPR, it's remarkable that he recognized Michael needed a catheter because of fluids being pumped into him while he was under.”

"The notion or [claim that he was incontinent] is absolutely preposterous."

Meanwhile, the Jacksons just want “Conrad Murray to crawl back under the rock he came from” and stop trashing the dead star for his own gain.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have just finalized their divorce. Yes, it took this long. The papers were filed Tuesday to make their 2011 split official.

The reason it took so long for the Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore divorce to play out is because they were arguing over money, specifically his investments.

Moore wanted spousal support, even though she's worth way more, based on the belief that he wasn't being transparent with some of his tech startups.

Sources say she backed off that claim, clearing the way for an end to the dispute at last. Kutcher came to the table looking to make a deal as well.

The former spouses ultimately reached a financial settlement and Ashton gave Demi more than he had to had he dragged it out, but hey, it's over.

With the Demi divorce behind him, Ashton can now focus on getting behind Mila Kunis, getting down on one knee and getting her pregnant ASAP.

The Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY) Awards 2013 took place at the Red Carpet Event Centre, Lekki, Lagos, on the night of November 24, Sunday.

Nollywood diva Rita Dominic has been announced as the winner of ELOY Awards 2013 in Best Movie Producer nomination, alongside her manager, Mildred Okwo.

Both of them won the award for the film 'The Meeting', which was released in 2012 and has been doing well at the big screens.

According to new reports, Angelina Jolie just dropped $19million for a secluded heart shaped Island located in Lake Mahopac, 50-miles away from New York City, which she reportedly plans to present to her partner Brad Pitt on his 50th birthday on December 18th.

Angelina paid a recent visit to Petra Island where she discovered two sprawling properties designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, who is Brad's favorite architect. She reportedly paid for one of the properties.
"As soon as Angelina heard the island was on the market she arranged a viewing. She was really impressed. The house is perfect for romantic getaways or as a family retreat," a source told the Daily Mirror U.K. "It's very private and Angelina knows the fact the island is in the shape of a heart will mean so much to him," the source explained.
The 11-acre Island boasts panoramic views, a helicopter pad, the famous Massaro house and a cottage.

Gunmen attack Aviation Minister Stella Oduah's car - Police

The FCT Police Command on Monday in Abuja confirmed that gunmen fired shots at the car of the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah in Abuja. The spokesperson of the command, Altine Daniel, told the News Agency of Nigeria that the incident occurred at about 10 p.m. on Friday.

She added that the minister was not in the car when the incident took place.

Ms. Daniel, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, however, said that the incident was reported to the police on Monday at about 5:30 p.m. According to her, some metal objects were found in the vehicle which do not look like the conventional bullet. “The objects will be subjected to ballistic test,” she said. Also confirming the shooting, the Special Adviser to the minister, Joe Obi, said that the attack took place at the Ministers’ Hill, Maitama in Abuja.
“Fortunately, the minister was not in the car at the time the attack took place.
“An official report has been made to the police and the police are currently investigating it,” Mr. Obi said.

Mrs. Oduah has been in the news recently over her roles in the controversial inflated purchase of two bullet proof cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, for N255 million; with many Nigerians calling for her sack and prosecution.
President Goodluck Jonathan on Sunday confirmed that he had received the report of a three-man committee set up to probe the role of the minister in the scandal.

Former label mates, Don Jazzy and D'banj united over the weekend, at Rapper, Ice Prince's hyped 'Fire of Zamani concert'.

While many felt the two Nigerian music heavy weights Don Jazzy and D'banj were just going to snub each but the duo actually surprised many, they both broke into smiles, gave each other bear hugs and even shared a ciger.

This is the second time this year, these two are meeting in public and exchanging cheerful pleasantries. First had been at the wedding ceremony of Dotun Ojuolape of Cool fm and D'banj's sister Taiwo. They had even performed together on stage.

Fans hurdled around them and cheered them on.

Fans are hoping against hope that D'banj and Don Jazzy will work together again, but they have left no indication that will be happening soon…we can only keep our fingers crossed.
