Dennis Okike is the 10th Ultimate champion!

Dennis Okike has emerged the 10th  Ultimate Champion. He outsmarted Dr.Edmund Umeabuani and Ifunanya Onike in the waters of Usaka River, Akwa-Ibom State where the final battle among the warriors fervently seeking for the 10th symbol took place.  On the final day of the search, the warriors got a message from the Council of Elders ordering them to pack their bags and make their ways to where they draw water. Chidi awaited them and gave them the next set of instructions.

The final task was to search for the 10th Symbol. To do that, each of them would make use of a clue which would take them to two different locations to retrieve two pieces of the map that would lead to where the 10th Symbol was buried. Another clue at their first locations would direct them to the next location.
It was a race against time and the last man to the next location was evicted. Edmund and Ifunanya’s first clue led them to the Place of the Talking Drum to retrieve the first map piece; while Bobby and Dennis went to the Mud Field. Subsequently, Bobby and Dennis headed to the Place of the Talking Drum for their second piece while Edmund and Ifunanya raced to the Mud
Field. Edmund returned first, followed by Ifunanya. Dennis edged Bobby out of the quest when he beat him to the finish line. Bobby was instantly evicted.
With their maps pieced together, the remaining warriors had all they needed to proceed to find the Sceptre. On their maps three spots were marked ‘X’ as possible places the 10th Symbol was buried. Ifunanya was in the lead, having figured out the direction first. However her first attempt at crossing the river with the aid of a rope saw her falling into the water while Edmund and Dennis moved on.
Edmund arrived first and headed straight to one of the spots marked on the map and began his search. Dennis joined shortly. Ifunanya had barely stepped in the river when Dennis raised what turned out to be a false alarm. All he had was a piece of debris laying under the river. The protracted search had the warriors glancing at their maps intermittently as Dennis kept digging up dirt after dirt from the river.
After many futile efforts Dennis eventually dug up the Sceptre from under a slant palm tree in the river and thereby ended the long search for the 10th  symbol. He was instantly inducted into the order of Heroes as the 10th  Ultimate Man by Chidi Mokeme, the Anchor-man.
For his feat, Dennis will win N10 million and a brand new Mitsubishi Pajero 3.0L GLS AT( full Option) courtesy of CFAO Motors Nigeria, the official automotive partners of Gulder Ultimate Search 10. For emerging the last female contestant standing, Ifunanya is already guaranteed N1 million in addition to her prize money.
In the same vein, Kalu Kalu, a final year student of Industrial Mathematics in the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, has emerged as the first winner of the first ever fans edition of Gulder Ultimate Search. The fans edition of Gulder Ultimate Search was hosted by Bob Manuel Udokwu. Gulder gave fans and viewers of the show a chance to compete in Nigeria’s first 100 per cent local content reality TV show from the comfort of their homes.

Man Drugs Wife For 3-Day Marathon s*x, Days After She Gave Birth to Child

A nursing mother, Mrs Glory Ojuala, has narrated how her husband, Alex Ojuala, drugged her for three days in order to have s*x with her a few days after she was delivered of a baby at her matrimonial home in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

The mother of three children made the shocking revelation at Ejigbo Customary Court in Lagos State on Monday while testifying before the court following a petition she filed before the court for dissolution of their 15-year marriage.

The 30-year old housewife claimed that two days after she gave birth to their child, her husband started pestering her for s*x in the presence of her mother, who was on a visit.

Glory told the court that she denied her husband s*x because she was still recovering from pangs childbirth and was chest feeding, but he accused her of having extramarital affairs and cut the family’s daily feeding allowance to N100 to punish her.

Glory alleged that she did not know that her husband had an ulterior motive when she gave her a soft drink while she was eating on the day her husband drugged her.

The nursing mother alleged that after she took the soft drink, she couldn’t explain what happened afterwards until she was revived in a hosptial three days later.

She said that she later knew that her husband drugged her to have s*x with her when he confessed that he did so because she was denying him s*x and was sleeping with other men.

She told the court that after the incident she moved out of his house and since then they have been living separately, while her husband abandoned their children for her to take care of them alone.

The embittered woman had petitioned the court seeking for the dissolution of their 15-year marriage on the grounds that her husband was threatening her life, did not take care of her and their children and beat her, adding that she does not love him anymore.

Glory narrated in court how Alex Ojuala, an indigene of Edo State, came to her village in Eket in Akwa Ibom State and married her at a tender age.

She said despite her age, she accepted to marry him against her family wish, only to be maltreated by him after they started living together.

She told the court that she believed that he charmed her to marry him and her suspicion was confirmed when she started attending church.

Glory asked the court to compel Alex to take care of their children by providing for their upkeep and education. In response, Alex denied all the allegations made against him and said he had been taking care of his family until trouble started.

Alex said he used to give his wife N200 daily before leaving for work and wondered how she would claim that he did not take care of her and their children.

He also said that he was no longer interested in the relationship and asked the court to dissolve the marriage.

He promised to provide N10,000 for the upkeep and education of the children.

The president of the court, Mr T. A. Eko, queried Alex for abandoning the responsibility of the training their children for his estranged wife to shoulder and asked him to have a change of heart for the interest of the children. The matter was adjourned till March 2014.

15 Lies You’ve All Told Before, During or After s*x

S*x can be one of the most intimate and bonding experiences two people can have … but it can also be a time fraught with uncertainty, irritation and … LIES! C’mon, we’ve all lied occasionally about, during, or after s*x. “Was it good for you?” can really only be followed by, “Of course it was, honey,” unless you want to break up. If it wasn’t, bring it up later (gently) in the therapist’s office. Here’s 15 ways we lie about s*x.

1. Being on birth control. Sadly, women do lie about birth control sometimes. One woman confesses to telling her husband she is NOT on birth control even though she is. They mutually decided to have a baby, but after they hit financial and relationship problems, she decided it wouldn’t be a good idea. But when she tried to bring up going back on bc again, she says she “knows he’ll be mad and upset and think we’re breaking up or something.”

2. Not being on birth control. Probably the most dangerous s*x lie a woman can tell — secretly trying to get yourself impregnated is never a good idea. Whether it’s to hold a relationship together, to twist a proposal out of a guy, or to just have a baby cause you’re ready and he’s not — STEER CLEAR of this major lie!

3. Of course I’m clean. New couples should have STD talks with each other — but usually it takes the form of, “Have you ever been tested?” and then the other person says, “Of course I have. I’m totally clean.” In reality, you don’t know unless the person shows you test results! And believe me, people lie about it. Some even go so far as to lie when they know they do have an STD. A model is suing her rich ex after discovering she had herpes, which she believes he gave her.

4. You’re the best lover I’ve ever had. Might be true. But if not, you’ll say it anyway.

5. You’re the first lover I’ve ever had. Not everyone lies about this, but some do for some strange reason.

6. Sorry, got my period. One of those sneaky little fallback lies women rely on when they’re not in the mood. Some guys don’t care and will grab you anyway, but enough do get skeeved that it can be reliably used as an avoidance tactic.

7. Nope, not on my period. For the lady who wants some nookie but is afraid her menses-sensitive guy won’t comply if he knows she’s flowin’, she can just do a clean up and act like she doesn’t have it. By the end of the period, should be good for 15 minutes at least. If she leaks, she can be all, “Oh my goodness, I didn’t realize!”

8. I never fantasize about anyone else. Right.

Stella Oduah to defend herself on Wednesday

The house of Minister, Stella Oduah, a 24-hour additional time to appear before its Aviation Committee currently investigating the controversial acquisition of N255 million BMW armoured cars.

The hearing that was earlier scheduled for today will now hold on Wednesday at 12pm.

The legislators have asked Ms. Oduah to return to Nigeria from Israel where she travelled to last week as a member of President Goodluck Jonathan’s delegation to the country.

“This is to notify all stakeholders and the general public that day 2 Public Hearing of House Committee on Aviation on the purchase of two BMW cars by Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) earlier slated for Tuesday, 29 October, 2013 has been postponed to Wednesday, 30th October 2013,” the committee said in a statement on Monday.

The Committee has promised to do a thorough job in its week-long probe to uncover the facts behind the controversial purchase which has drew the ire of Nigerians.

Officials of the NCAA attended the first hearing, but are to present more documents this week. First Bank, financier of the purchase, and Coscharis, the supplier of the cars, are yet to make submissions.

The Committee yesterday said the hearing will now hold on Wednesday to allow all those invited, including the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, First Bank, Coscharis, to fully prepare.

The Chairman of the Committee, Nkiruka Onyejeocha, had said the call for the sack of Oduah was “too early”, saying it is only fair to allow Oduah state her own side of the story.

Addressing journalists on Saturday, she said “For me, she (Ms. Oduah) is entitled to fair hearing and of course, you have to get to the bridge before you cross it. It is too early to call for somebody’s resignation because one of the questions we asked was; have they bought the cars; was it appropriated for under any Nigerian law?

“When that investigation is concluded, then we know who should be asked to resign. So for me, it is too early to just begin to say so.”

Since the controversial purchase became public knowledge, several groups and activists have demanded the Minister’s resignation to allow for proper investigation.

It would be recalled that the presidency last Wednesday announced that a three-man probe panel headed by the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), investigate the scandal.

‘I begged to sell CDs in US salons to survive’- Banky W reveals

Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) boss, Olubankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, tells his story of grass to grace in an interview with Josephine Igbinovia of Vanguard Newspapers.

Although many see the fame and fortune music has brought to Banky W , it is hard to believe that the the R&B superstar who is responsible for producing monster hits and artistes the likes of Wizkid, Niyola, Skales, once did menial jobs including selling CDs in Salons while in the United States just to eke out a living.

Read excerpts from his interview:

Starting small

His appearance bellies his personality and generally gives the illusion of a young man with a history devoid of sweat. But no, Banky did not only pay his due but also mastered certain principles which he wouldn’t forget in haste.

“One of such is to think big but start small”, he said.

“Everybody knows me to be the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of EME, but what people do not know is that EME started when I was in my third year in university in New York. You see, we all dream dreams, but it is important to think very big and start where you are because God never gives you everything but gives you enough to start. At that time, I knew I wanted to do music, but of course I understood nobody starts by selling a million CDs or the big screen!”, Banky stated.

Menial jobs
Indeed his tale solidifies his emphasis on little beginning because to achieve his dream of becoming a music superstar, Banky had to take up to three jobs while also in university!

He said: “I worked in fast foods outlets, clothing stores and as a knife salesman, selling knives from door to door. That way, I gathered money to pay for studio recording time. I was recording with a close friend at that time.

Begging at saloons
“After making that music, we printed a thousand CDs though we didn’t have any fan. I had one battered car that broke down virtually everywhere, so, we would print black and white posters, stick them on the sides of the car, sell from the car’s trunk and drive to salons to do marketing. We would walk to the owners of the salons, greet politely, and ask them to let us entertain their customers. Sometimes, some would kick us out and sometimes some would say yes. If told yes, after singing for a minute or two, we would sell our CDs to the customers! That was the beginning!

“A lot of people see you on stage and see the success but do not know what you had to go through! I never had one really big break; it was always two steps forward and a couple backwards. But I just decided that I was going to make music work for me. That was why I moved on to a new salon each time any salon rejected me! I just kept going because I believe failure is when you give up. Albert Einstein said he tried a hundred times to make the light bulb. When he was asked what kept him going during the 99 times, he said: ‘I didn’t consider those 99 times as failure; rather, I considered them 99 ways that it didn’t work!’ We went about selling CDs and, on the days we couldn’t sell much, we would sit down and be broke together. I remember my friend was a member of a church that usually served food after service. So, on the days we didn’t sell CDs and were too broke to buy food, we would attend service in that church so we could pack rice and store in the fridge.

Work, school, music
“At a point, being a student of industrial engineering, I was working for an engineering company and was recording as well. I would go to work from 7am till about 2pm and then go to school till about 8pm, and then drive two and a half hours to New York City where the studio that would let us record for less was, and record until about 2am. I would then drive two and a half hours back home to be back at work at 7am the following day. One day, I was driving home from work and was so tired that I fell asleep while on a bridge. I would have driven off from the top of the bridge to God knows where, if not for an on-going construction work. God really saved me!”

After a while, Banky’s hard work began to pay off and, even while in school, he began winning awards, beginning with the ‘Albany Idol’ competition. Other international awards soon followed.

“Why I went back to Chris Okotie after I closed down the church I established with Soul E” – Queen Ure

In a very recent interview with PUNCH, Banker cum singer Ure Okezie popularly referred to as Queen Ure, talked about her career, her relationship with Chris Okotie, the church she established with Soul E and her dissolved marriage to hip hop artiste, Soul E.

See excerpts below:

You have been involved in many vocations including banking, preaching, music and coaching. Where exactly is your focus?

I am a natural scientist. A scientist is basically inquisitive. I always want to find out things, experiment, theorise and come out with some thesis.  My best subject as a student in primary and secondary school was mathematics.  I have never done anything that I don’t enjoy and I believe that life is in stages. Banking is fantastic and the corporate world has taught me to be very goal oriented.

Can you be described as a jack of all trades and master of none?

God has endowed me with a lot of talents. I train and build minds with my coaching skill. The pastoral ministry is all about reaching out and impacting lives and there are various means through which we reach out.  It could be through the pulpit, music or books. It only becomes a religious thing when you talk about ministry in terms of pulpit.  I may be a jack of all trades as you say but I am equally a master of all.

At what point in your life did you realise that you were gifted?

I discovered my talents from childhood, but of all the different talents, music is one thing that has always been with me.  Even as a banker, I always sang during our end-of-year parties.  I have been writing songs from childhood but nothing came out of them because I never recorded them.  I have always known I would do music in a huge capacity but I just did not know when. When the time came, I made up my mind not to let the talent waste.   I just dived headlong into music because anything worth doing is worth doing well. It is not too good for one to have lovely songs that would make an impact in the industry, and then just let the talent to lie fallow.  Music comes to me naturally; I don’t have to think before writing a song because as things happen, songs come. I am still writing songs even as we speak.

How would you describe your kind of music?

I am a great and good singer; I don’t limit myself to a particular style and name of music.  When I am happy, I sing a happy song, when I am sad, I sing a sad song.    Whichever way the inspiration comes, I just flow with it.

Where do you really belong, gospel or secular music genre?

I am a secular artiste. I don’t want to tag myself a gospel artiste because that is not what I am. I can sing anything.

You established a church, Love Villa, which you later closed down. What happened to the members?

They went to other churches, which is fine by me.  Church is about people, it is not a building.  I am not a religious person; I am quite spiritual.  I have impacted lives during the period God gave me and what I put in them will stay forever.  I ministered in the church for about three and a half years and I believe that was the way God wanted it. God can use one to do a particular thing at a particular time. One doesn’t necessarily have to do that for the rest of one’s life.

Was that why you went back to the Household of God church?

I went back to Pastor Chris Okotie-led church because that was my church before I started my ministry.   I mean, I wouldn’t go to another church after my pastoral work.  Why would I do that? The church is like a home to me, most of the people are my friends, my sisters and brothers, so it is only natural that I should return there.

Your ex, Soul E, is a musician, how much impact did he have on your music?

I left my songs to help Soul E with his music when we met. That period of working with him gave me the opportunity to understand the industry and the market.  It gave me the opportunity to be prepared.

Do you want to remarry?

There is no woman who does not want to marry.  If a woman says she doesn’t want to marry, it is because she does not believe that she can find a good man. We all want to marry. I do want to remarry, why not?

Is there a man at the moment?

There is none.

Is it that you don’t fare well in relationships, or the fault is from the men involved?

I am sure even married people have problems sometimes.  There is nothing unique about me having relationships that did not work.  I don’t break my head over them.  It does not make me sit down and start wondering what I did wrong. I believe that God is the giver of all things and in His time, He will make all things perfect.

Don’t you feel sad that you are yet to marry at this age?

I have not said I would not want to be married but, truth is, happiness is a feeling of the mind.   I’m happy as I am now; I’m having the best life ever and if I ever get married, I would still have the best life. My happiness is not dependent on anybody.

After the experience with Soul E, will you still date a man that is much younger than you?

My relationship with Soul E ended like any other relationship. Relationships end and people move on. That was what happened to us and it is not the end of my life. I am not one who closes up herself to life. Whether the person is older or younger, if he is mature and I feel comfortable, I would go ahead and date him.

Identical twin brothers and multiple-award winning duo Peter and Paul Okoye popularly known as Psquare waste no time in telling their fans they go spiritual all the way prior to the release of any album and have stated that it is the core reason for their sustainability in the music industry.

“It is all about prayers and hard work. Before ever we release any album into the market, we must fast and pray for one month. This is what keeps us successful in the industry.”

Psquare, one of the most successful musical groups in Nigeria and Africa added that talent is not enough to become a success especially in the Nigerian setting where artistes need more than talent to stay in the game.

Sexy Mercy Johson Reveals All Her Inner Features

I am Mercy Johnson, an actress. I was born 29 years ago and I am the fourth child in a family of seven. My father is an ex-military officer and I left my mother at the age of two to live with him. Due to the nature of his job, he was constantly transferred from one station to another. I am proud of him because he taught me all I needed to know from childhood to adulthood.

Movie industry

I have grown with time and there have been good and bad times. There have been rumours and scandals. Sometimes, when I cry in movies, it wasn’t the script that made me cry. Rather, I reflect on my humble beginning and the height I’ve attained now. This makes me cry.

Journey into acting

After my secondary school education, I approached a friend for assistance to feature in a movie. He took me to the National Theatre, Lagos, but a role did not come until a year later. My first lead role was in a film titled, ‘The Maid.’ It was quite challenging to interprete because it was my first movie. When I saw the veterans on set, I fidgeted.

A star actress

Life is in phases and I cannot say I have reached the peak of my profession. I have not even won an Oscar yet! There is always a higher mountain to climb, a new vision to fulfill and I am at that point. I want to achieve new and greater dreams.

Fulfillment

The greatest fulfillment is the ability to influence people positively through my acting.

Challenges

Life is not a bed of roses; it comes with challenges which make me stronger and who I am.

Nollywood: Then and now

We have achieved feats which the old Nollywood did not achieve. It is all about progression and I am sure that in the future, Nollywood will achieve a greater feat than it is doing currently.

Relationship

My husband is loving and he is an understanding man. I am so happy to be married to him. I acted a movie, ‘Baby Oku in America’ when I was heavily pregnant and he didn’t feel bad about it. He understands that I am an actor and sometimes, we need real life situations, like the pregnancy, to interpret a role. Not many men would allow their wife do that.

Scandals

They are all lies. I just think the media needs to do their verification well before they put any story out. Whenever I read all manner of lies about me in the media, I wonder where all of these came from and regret being an actor. But in all, I move on and take it as one of the hazards of the job. I am fulfilled as an actor.

Mercy Johnson Foundation

I floated the foundation because of my love for the less privileged. One of my greatest joys is to see other people happy. I want to make lasting impact in my society. The objective is to identify the needs of the less privilege, evaluate them and help in our own little way. I strongly believe that as movie stars, we should live beyond the euphoria of stardom.

A sexy woman

It is inbuilt. It’s just how you feel about yourself. For me, being sexy is confidence. It mustn’t be about the hairstyle or the accessories or the big buttocks. It’s about you, liking yourself just the way you are.

Motherhood

My husband is a wonderful man. He makes my job easier and helps carry our daughter, Purity. He feeds her and she misses him whenever he is not around. As a family, we understand one another and we make whatever adjustments we have to make in order to have a good home.

Success

The challenges I faced have yielded results and I am reaping the fruits of all my efforts. I have grown from nobody in the industry to becoming a top actress from Africa. To God be all the glory.

To be an actress

Talent is never enough you must constantly brush up your talent but training can come in different form. You only need to ensure that in whatever form, you are not just relying on your inborn talent.

Projects

There are many but I’m not permitted to disclose them yet. They will start unfolding soon.

Fear

My worst fear will be to leave this earth without making a huge impact.

Fashion

I don’t wear what is in vogue or what everybody is wearing, I just wear what suits me and I’m lucky to have a physique that encourages everything I wear. My husband is a huge critic, so when he pays compliments to my dressing, I feel so good. He doesn’t believe that exposing anything makes you look better. He feels when you cover up, you look real nice.

To upcoming actors

Be yourself and let your talent speak for you. Don’t come into the industry because you want to be famous, but because you love the art of acting. Then try to appreciate those who were there before you.
