Two blasts near Syria Shiite shrine kill at least 12

At least 12 people were killed on Sunday in a double bomb blast near the Shiite shrine of Sayyida Zeinab, south of the Syrian capital Damascus, a monitor said.

Dozens more were wounded in the blasts, one of which was caused by a car bomb, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitor said.

The monitor had initially reported eight deaths in the blasts.

It said the cause of the second blast was not immediately clear.

Syrian state media also reported the explosions.

State television carried a breaking news alert reporting “two terrorist blasts, one of them a car bomb, followed by a suicide bomber… in the area of Sayyida Zeinab.”

It said there was “information about deaths and injuries,” but gave no further details.

The Sayyida Zeinab mosque contains the grave of a granddaughter of the Prophet Mohammed and is particularly revered as a pilgrimage site by Shiite Muslims.

It has been targeted before, including in February 2015, when two suicide attacks killed four people and wounded 13 at a checkpoint near the shrine.

Also that month, a blast ripped through a bus carrying Lebanese Shiite pilgrims headed to Sayyida Zeinab, killing at least nine people, in an attack claimed by Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front.

Veteran broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan has died aged 77 following a short battle with cancer,

Veteran broadcaster Sir Terry Wogan has died aged 77, his family confirmed today.

The much-loved television presenter, who celebrated 50 years in broadcasting this year, passed away following a short battle with cancer.

It comes just two months after he pulled out of presenting charity fundraiser Children In Need due to health reasons.

In a statement released this morning, his family said: 'Sir Terry Wogan died today after a short but brave battle with cancer.

'He passed away surrounded by his family. While we understand he will be missed by many, the family ask that their privacy is respected at this time.'

Prime Minister David Cameron also paid tribute to the popular broadcaster. He said on Twitter: 'My thoughts are with Terry Wogan's family. Britain has lost a huge talent - someone millions came to feel was their own special friend.'

He added: 'I grew up listening to him on the radio and watching him on tv. His charm and wit always made me smile.'

Piers Morgan said: 'RIP Sir Terry Wogan. One of the greatest broadcasters who ever lived. Such sad news.'

I wasn’t moved because I heard clearly from God. I later booked another hotel apparently God had rescued me from a fatal accident.

Dr Chris explained further how he witnessed the fire outbreak from the window of his hotel room and was just thanking God, his wife was in shock allayed that their enemies would have been in that fire.

He urged the crowd at the world anointing Night to pray against every irreversible mistake, evil occurrence that can lead to dead, mistakes that can not be changed.

‘I listened to the voice of God and that was why he saved me, I later called the agent in Lagos, if he had seen the incident in the News because it was a world wide broadcast,  the agent languishing in tears, couldn’t control his emotions, apologised, I said to him it wasn’t his fault, that God will always spare those that are his.

Daughter of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun- Eniyemamwen Oyegun got married to Umaso Eketu, a flying officer in the Nigerian Air Force, on Saturday.

The wedding ceremony took place in Lagos at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral while the reception was held at Haven‎ Event Centre, Ikeja.

Tons of APC chieftains were in attendance at the wedding ceremony of Eniye and Umaso.

Jesus Saves.

A definition of the Christian doctrine of salvation would be “The deliverance, by the grace of God, from eternal punishment for sin which is granted to those who accept by faith God’s conditions of repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus.” Salvation is available in Jesus alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) and is dependent on God alone for provision, assurance, and security.

How do we receive salvation? We are saved by faith. First, we must hear the gospel—the good news of Jesus’ death and resurrection (Ephesians 1:13). Then, we must believe—fully trust the Lord Jesus (Romans 1:16). This involves repentance, a changing of mind about sin and Christ (Acts 3:19), and calling on the name of the Lord (Romans 10:9-10, 13).

How does God save? In the Christian doctrine of salvation, God has rescued us through Christ (John 3:17). Specifically, it was Jesus’ death on the cross and subsequent resurrection that achieved our salvation (Romans 5:10; Ephesians 1:7). Scripture is clear that salvation is the gracious, undeserved gift of God (Ephesians 2:5, 8) and is only available through faith in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).

Only God can remove sin and deliver us from sin’s penalty (2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 3:5).

David Bowie Leaves Millions to Wife Iman, Kids, Nanny and Assistant in Will

David Bowie whose real name was David Robert Jones, died on January 10 of cancer at the age of 69.

According to his will, his supermodel wife will get half his fortune. Bowie reportedly left $2 million to his assistant and friend Corinne "Coco" Schwab and $1 million to his son’s former nanny Marion Skene. Bowie’s children, 44-year-old filmmaker Duncan Jones and 15-year-old daughter Alexandria Jones, will get the remaining amount, along with properties owned by the late singer.

He also left his daughter, whom he welcomed with Iman in 2000, his country estate in Little Tonshi Mountain in the Catskills. Duncan will reportedly inherit numerous other properties

Prior to his death, Bowie asked to be cremated and requested for his ashes to be spread in Bali, per his Buddhist beliefs.

Iman, understandably, took Bowie’s death hard, but has stayed strong for her daughter. “What [Bowie] loved most about Iman,” an insider previously told Us, “was how brave she is.”

Forgive those who offend you

When we commit sin, we put up a wall between ourselves and God. God loves us deeply, but He hates sin so much that it causes separation between man and God. Our sins are so great, that we cannot possibly repay them. The good news is that His love for us is so great, that He sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross as payment for our sins. The only way our sins can be forgiven, is when we receive the gift that His Son has given us on the cross.

Forgiveness and reconciliation is the most important part of the gospel. Without forgiveness of our sins, we face eternal separation from God. Anybody who dies who is separated from God, goes to a place of eternal punishment called hell; a place where there is no relief from the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15).

Forgiving Others

When a person sins against us, the enemy loves to place within us a wall against that person; a roadblock in our way of loving that person as Christ loved us. Forgiveness is basically a choice that we make to destroy that roadblock that is in our way of loving them as Christ loved us.

Jesus died to tear down the roadblocks caused by our sin between us and God, and we are required to do the same to those who wrong us (Matthew 6:15).

Jussie Smollett: 'I Am a Gay Man. I Am a Gay Man. I Am a Gay Man'

Love is love. Jussie Smollett opened up about his sexuality and his views on relationships in OUT magazine'sMarch 2016 issue.

"I am a gay man with an extremely open heart. God, I’ve never had to talk about this, so I’m trying to find the words. If I had to label myself, I would label myself as a gay man," the Empireactor, 31, told OUT’s Shana Naomi Krochmal.

"With that said, I believe that love is the only thing that matters, and I would hope that anybody would leave themselves open — not to gender, but to love. I would hope that people would not close themselves off from what could be if, lo and behold, you meet somebody that just sweeps you off your feet, and you just can’t do anything about it," he continued.

 "If we truly believe that we are born this way, then why do we try to stifle the way we were born? If I fall in love down the road with a woman, I’m going to love that woman." Smollett, whose Empire character, Jamal Lyon, is gay, initially addressed the rumors during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show last March.The former child star said at the time that he's "never been in a closet," and that he preferred to keep his personal life private.

"I was ready to talk about it," Smollett told OUT. "[Ellen] told me, 'You don’t have to.' I will be forever grateful to Ellen for the kindness she showed me. And that made me want to talk about it."

Smollett's conversations with DeGeneres and Henson have proved to be a stepping stone for the rising star. In OUT, he also talked in depth about what love means to him.

"You’re not going to tell me that loving someone is wrong. That does not mean that heterosexuality is not very real. It does not mean that bisexuality is not very real. Omawunmi shares experience working with Angelique Kidjo

In a recent interview, Omawunmi describes her experience working with Anjelique Kidjo as refreshing and memorable.

Woman sentenced to death for killing co-wife’s baby

The High Court in Nairobi on Thursday sentenced a woman and three of her relatives to death for brutally killing her co-wife’s 18-month-old daughter.

The woman whose co-wife was initially her house help said jealousy drove her alongside three others to commit the heinous act.

Elena Nyambura committed the murder in 2009 at Kariobangi Estate, Nairobi after her husband took in their house help as a second wife.

Appearing before Justice Fred Ochieng’, Elena confessed that she committed the act after perceiving that her husband loved the house help’s baby more than he loved her baby, adding that the anger led her to killing the innocent baby.

Seven years after the unfortunate incident, Elena stated that she had learnt the error of her ways and was remorseful for the gruesome murder.

The judge however noted that his hands were tied on the matter by the law, adding that he had to do justice by the infant and her family.

The four were sentenced to death for the murder.

Calling Those Things That Do Not Exist As Though They Did

We overcome the world by faith (1John 5:4). We are commanded to live a lifestyle of faith, and not one of dependence on feelings and circumstances (2 Corinthians 5:7). We are to keep our gaze on unseen things, the promises of God, and keep our eyes on these promises until they are manifested for all to see (2 Corintians 4:18). Our entire Christian life is a fight to stay in faith (1 Timothy 6:12; 2 Timothy 4:7). We are to trust the Lord with all our hearts, and we are not to trust in our thinking abilities or any of our own natural abilities apart from God’s Word (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Simply put, walking or living by faith is living or acting as though God’s Word were true right now. Many of the things that the Lord promises us in His Word seem as though they are not real in our lives. And it is our faith that brings what God has promised (that which is yet unseen or unfelt) to us, into this world where we can see, feel, and experience it. And when we choose to live by faith, we please God so much (Hebrew 11:6)!

The verse at the beginning of this article shows us exactly what to do when we live by faith. We are to CALL THOSE THINGS THAT DO NOT EXIST AS THOUGH THEY DID! The Amplified version of Romans 4:17 says it so well, “... and speaks of non-existent things that He has foretold and promised, as if they already existed.”

Faith says, “I believe that I have the money that I need,” even when it seems as though you can’t pay the bills. Faith says, “I believe that my body is healed even when the doctor has a very negative report. Faith says, “My children are obedient and faithful,” even when they’re acting up! Faith says, “My marriage is getting stronger,” even when it looks as though you’re drifting farther apart. When you’re standing in faith, you’re agreeing with what God’s Word says, and with how you prayed about a situation, even when it seems there is no change!

This is God’s answer for anxiety when it attacks us. In stead of believing that things will continue the way they are, pray and ask the Lord to change the situation, and then talk as though you believe that He’s answering your prayer! We presently believe something about every area of life right now anyway, so why not go ahead and believe the promises of God instead of the circumstances that we see!

Too many times instead of doing what God’s Word says and call those things that do not exist as though they did, we turn it around and call those things that are as though they are! “Nothing ever works out for me!” “It looks like I’m getting worse.” “I don’t have the money to pay this bill.” “My children never obey the way they should.” “My marriage is getting worse all the time.” That’s not the way we’re supposed to talk if we want the Lord to turn our problems around! It takes absolutely no faith to talk like that. But that’s the way most of the world lives. Though we are in the world, we are not to live the way the world does. We are a “peculiar people!”

French police 'arrest man with guns in suitcase' outside Disneyland

A man carrying two handguns, ammunition and a Koran was arrested on Thursday at a hotel in DisneylandParis, police sources said.

The man was "detected upon his arrival at the Disneyland hotel where he had a reservation".

He was arrested at around 2pm at theHotel New York in Disneyland, according to BFM TV, after passing through the security portal of the hotel, which sounded the alarm.

He had booked a room for two and staff said they saw him with a woman who vanished when he was seized.

One woman, who was accompanying him, is "at large" according to Le Parisien. He is thought to live in Paris.

Disneyland Paris is among France's most visited tourist attractions. According to the Hotel New York's website, it offers spacious rooms and a pool at a New York-style 4-stars venue, situated "just a few steps from Disney Village and a short ride from the Parks by free shuttle".

The hotel has a deal exclusive to a string of Disneyland hotels in which "you can even enjoy up to 2 Extra Magic Hours in parts of Disneyland® Park on certain days".

The Grace of God

God wants us to know His grace. He wants us to learn about it and then experience it at work in our lives. Grace has rightly been described as “God’s unmerited favor.” The acrostic “God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense” captures even more of its majesty. Grace is God freely providing for us (as we trust in the work of His Son) all that we will ever need, all that we will ever yearn for, all that we could ever produce on our own, could never earn and never deserve. Grace offers what every human desperately needs, but what God alone can provide. This grace is found only in a person, the Lord Jesus. Thus it is accessible only through an ongoing relationship with Him.

Adebayor, 31, who has been a free agent since being released by Palace’s rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, has signed a deal that will see him feature for Palace until the end of the season.

Palace chairman Steve Parish expressed his joy at the deal. “Real pleasure to welcome @e_adebayor to #cpfc,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Togo striker has also played for Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League — scoring on his debut for all three — as well as for Real Madrid and Monaco in a 15-year career that has taken in six clubs in three countries.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew acknowledged that the club were interested in Adebayo following their 3-1 defeat to Spurs on Saturday and said he had no doubt he could deal with the player, who has fallen out with previous managers.

The lanky striker first moved to England in January 2006, when he joined Arsenal from French club Monaco for a fee of around seven million pounds ($10.05 million).

He moved to Manchester City for almost three times that figure in July 2009, but was loaned to Real Madrid 18 months later.

When the loan period expired in the summer of 2011 Adebayor joined Tottenham, initially also on loan before the switch was made permanent in August 2012 for a fee of about 4.5 million pounds.

However, with Adebayor out of favour at White Hart Lane, the club agreed to release him from his contract last September but have continued to pay his wages, reported in the English media to be 100,000 pounds a week.

He has been training alone in an attempt to stay fit and Palace made their move after suffering a slump in form and injuries to key players — in particular, Yannick Bolasie, who is still out after suffering a leg injury before Christmas.

Palace announced Adebayor’s signing on their website (www.cpfc.co.uk) and said the player would wear the number 25 shirt.

Adebayor has scored 96 times in 230 league games in England, eight behind Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba, who is the Premier League’s leading African goal scorer.

Man resurfaces days after his burial in Kenya

A man from Oleran Chemwokter, Narok County, who disappeared three years ago resurfaced Monday, five days after he was ‘buried’.

46-year-old Paul Kirich, a father of four and married to Pheona Kirich, 35, said that he had been working as a casual labourer at the Ndonyo Ranch in Ewaso Nyiro.

His brother, Simon Kirich, said prior to his re-surfacing, the family believed that he (Paul) was among a group of people who drowned in River Ewaso Nyiro in December last year and his body taken to Narok Mortuary.

He (Simon) regrets the mistake that had led to the situation but assured that village elders would be summoned to cleanse him and his brother.

Their mother and his (Paul’s) wife expressed their joy upon his arrival saying that the pain of a mysterious death was unimaginable.

“It feels amazing to be reunited with my husband once again after such a long time following his mysterious disappearance. Thankfully, my family is whole again,” said his wife.

According to cultural practices, the family will have to cleanse the grave after the exhumation process has been done.

Kirich, who is also the first born in a family of nine, says he will go back to Ewaso Nyiro to fend for his young family.

*First that every man shall marry at least two women and the man who refuses to do so shall be subjected to life imprisonment with hard labour.
*The woman who tries to prevent her husband from marrying another wife shall be punished tto life imprisonment”

Suicide bombers kill 32, wound dozens in northern Cameroon

Thirty two people have been killed and 66 others injured in a suicide bomb attack in a town in northern Cameroon on Monday.

Boko Haram has been blamed for what has been dubbed the worst attack on the Central African nation. However, the extremist group has not claimed the attack.

According to reports, four explosions struck a busy market, as well as entrances to the town of Bodo at around 10 a.m.

Bodo borders the Islamist insurgency’s strongholds in northeastern Nigeria.

It was reported that the death toll is expected to rise, as those injured in the attacks are in a serious condition, and may deteriorate.

“The Harmattan has been blowing for three days. … The vigilance committees weren’t able to see the suicide bombers, who entered the village in the middle of the night,”a local official said under the promise of anonymity.
