Tonto Dikeh, AY the Comedian in tweet fight

There’s an ongoing ‘verbal war’ between Nigeria’s ‘Queen of Controversy,’ Tonto Dike and popular comedian, Ayo Makun, famously know as AY.

Trouble started when AY reposted a link to a story on his blog about Tonto Dikeh’s attire to the just concluded Calabar Christmas Carnival.

Apparently angered by the story, the Actress took to her Twitter page to pour out her mind.

She called the top comedian a “motherfucker” and further threatened to expose his secrets.

AY immediately responded to her tweets and a heated argument ensued.

It would be recalled that AY and Nollywood bad boy, Jim Iyke were recently engaged in Twitter war when the comedian released a very hilarious skit where he delivered comedienne, Helen Paul, apparently mocking Jim Iyke’s recent delivrance at the Synagogue Church of All Nation.

Nissan To Roll Out First Made In Nigeria Cars In April

The first set of Made in Nigeria 4×4  SUVs will be rolled out by Nissan Motors in April this year.

Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motors, Carlos Ghosn, disclosed this to President Goodluck Jonathan on the sideline of ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Ghosn, who said the vehicles would be rolled out of the old Volkswagen Assembly plant in Lagos, noted it was possible to produce two to three million cars in Nigeria annually.

He noted that this will lead to creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the country.

He also told President Jonathan that Nissan intended to increase its investment in Nigeria and establish its own production plant in the country.

“We are interested in producing popular cars , totally adapted to the needs of Nigerians,” Ghosn told the President, adding that the company also planned to bring its global suppliers to make vehicle components in the country.

In his remarks, President Jonathan reiterated that the diligent implementation of the country’s new national automotive policy would rapidly develop Nigeria’s automobile industry.

Meet the woman with ‘the most expensive body on earth’

One of the most famous transsexual fixtures on the New York party scene has opened about the plastic surgery that’s behind her larger-than-life look.

Amanda Lepore, 46, reveals in a first person piece for Into The Gloss that after having a sex change at the age of 19 she went about getting three breast augmentations, buttock implants and even had her bottom ribs broken she she could achieve a smaller waist.

‘I think Raquel Welch and Cher did that, too,’ she said of the unusual procedure, adding: ‘It’s illegal in the U.S., but I had it done in Mexico. They break the floating rib in the back and push it in, so there’s no scar.’

Following multiple nips and tucks, 5ft 2in Ms Lepore boasts a perfect hourglass figure measuring 38-22-38.

Facially she has had lip injections, fillers, Botox, a nose job, a forehead lift and her hairline lowered.

Her inspirations included Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe and Jessica Rabbit.

‘Rather than emulate the girls I grew up with who made fun of me, I decided I wanted to look like a movie star. It was like an escape,’ the dancer, singer and party host recalled.

Luckily no major alterations were required, as Ms Lepore said she had ‘very girly features’ to begin with and would often pass for a girl in her early teens.

Asked how much her cosmetic work has cost in total, the busty blonde declined to provide an answer, merely stating: ‘There is a reason I am labeled ‘The Most Expensive Body On Earth’.

She says that her sex change from male to female, was the most painful procedure she’s had done.

‘It didn’t hurt when I got it done at the hospital,’ she recounted.

‘But they give you a dilator as part of the healing process, which you have to keep in for extended periods of time to stretch the vaginal opening.

‘It felt like a knife. It was the most painful thing I had ever experienced.’

LASU students stone Vice Chancellor, block school gate

Lagos State University students went on the rampage Thursday, disrupting the university’s second semester examination and destroying properties in the process.

The protest which started Wednesday over the closure of the university’s registration portal, led to stoning of the University Vice Chancellor Prof. John Obafunwa, as he tried to evade the riotous students who had blocked the main gate and made bonfires on the Lagos-Badagry expressway.

An eye witness told P.M.NEWS Thursday that students threw sticks and stones at the Vice Chancellor’s convoy as he made to escape through an alternative route beside Conoil Filling station.

Trouble started in the university when the VC decided not to open the registration portal for over 2,000 students who are yet to register their second semester coursesas exams was to begin Thursday, even though the banks are still collecting school fees from students, whose hope of registering gets slimmer by the day.

According to the students, only 708 were able to register before the portal was shut again leaving, 1292 students to their fate.

When the students union government went to plead on behalf of the students, the VC was reported as saying those yet to register are insignificant and would automatically have to carry the session over, a statement which infuriated the students and they decided to take laws into their hands.

A 100 level Political Science student, Adesegun Bisuga, laments the hard-line stand of the VC, saying he is inconsiderate.

“I personally don’t know why the VC decided to take that kind of hurting decisionlooking at the high fees the students are paying and after they struggle to pay, the VC denied us registration which will lead to the students having carry covers and extra year(s),” he said.

During an audience with the Vice Chancellor by members of the student union body, it was reported that the Vice Chancellor said 11,300 students, have registered so far, and the remaining the 1292 students crying foul falls in the rank of the minority.

Efforts to speak with the Dean of Students Affairs, Prof. Kabiru Akinyemi, was not successful as he said he cannot comment on the matter now. Calls put across to the Vice Chancellor were also ignored.

The speaker of the Students Parliamentary Council,  Sodiq Adewunmi Sanni, while speaking with our correspondent, advised that the university management should consider the students in view of the outrageous school fees they are paying.

“The university management needs to consider the students, they are paying the highest school fees for a state university in Nigeria. Even though I am not affected, the students’ school fees is outrageous. They have gone through a lot and to now deny them registration is not in anybody’s good interest.

“I would advise that the management postpone the exams till next week, so as to accommodate the 1292 students that are yet to register. That is not a figure to over look,” the speaker said.

Housemaid kills employers’ baby so that she could get a break

A domestic help  in Dubai has been arrested after reports that she killed her employers’ baby.

The unidentified maid is said to have suffocated the child because she had been refused a holiday by her Indian bosses.

The parents of the little girl returned from work to find her dead but they didn’t suspect anything until the autopsy pointed to foul play.

Daily Mail reports:

A housemaid who had been refused holiday allegedly murdered her employers’ baby in a last-ditch attempt to get time off work.

The woman, who worked for an Indian couple in Dubai, was arrested on suspicion of suffocating the girl with a wet rag while she slept.

The parents returned home from work on Sunday to find their only child had died from what they initially thought was natural causes.

But an autopsy later ruled that she had been suffocated, it was reported by Gulf News.

When questioned by police, the housemaid said she was angry after being denied time off work to travel back to her home country.
She said the child’s mother had started a new job and the husband was unable to take leave from work to look after the baby.

Officers claim the housemaid initially denied the killing, but later admitted that she thought the baby’s death would allow her to take leave.

On Tuesday, she was being held at Al Qusais Police Station while the case was transferred to the public prosecution.

Expatriate pushes Nigerian employee to his death from storey building

A foreigner working in Nigeria has been arrested by police in Enugu after reports that he assaulted an employee.

The suspect, an Arab simply identified as Abdul Lateef, is said to have had a disagreement with a fellow employee, one Arinze, at the Arab Contractors Construction Company due to which he threw the latter from the second floor of a storey building.

The accused was almost lynched by bystanders but was rescued by the police while Arinze was taken to the hospital.

Leadership reports:

A source told LEADERSHIP FRIDAY that the expatriate, whom sources said is feared by many in the company for his brutality, pushed the deceased down after their disagreement on how a particular task should be carried out at the site.

Workers of the company had attempted to lynch the expatriate, but for the timely intervention of the police, who took him away.

Meanwhile, the Enugu State Police Command said it has commenced “a full-scale investigations into the alleged incident” .

A release made available to reporters in Enugu by the command’s public relations officer, Ebere Amaraizu, said “ the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is now responding to treatment”.

But the South-eastern zone of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO) insisted that “the Nigerian who was pushed down by the expatriate has died”.

In a statement made available to LEADERSHIP FRIDAY in Enugu by its zonal director, Olu Omotayo, the CLO described the action of the expatriate as “a barbaric act in all ramifications. This is not the first time we are receiving complaints of torture and brutalisation of Nigerians by expatriates of some of these construction companies. These actions show how Nigerians have always been treated with disdain by these so-called expatriates in the construction companies.”

Omotayo further condemned the brutal killing of Arinze and demanded that the police charge Abdul Lateef for murder. “Nigerians cannot continue to be treated like animals in their own country,” he stated.

Toke Makinwa releases her wedding photos

TV/Radio personality Toke Makinwa married her longtime beau on Wednesday January 15th at a private wedding. She's just released her wedding photos, accompanied by a beautiful message.

What she wrote on her blog below...
On the 15th of January 2014,  I got married to my lover and Best Friend. It was such an intimate event, I haven't stopped apologising to family and friends who feel slighted that they could not attend.  I really did not wish to keep it a secret, If anything we would have loved to have all our loved ones there with us but this was our registry and  so much had happened between Maje and I in the last 3 months. Plus, it was such a huge surprise, I had no clue. I hate surprises but I must say, this one knocked me out of my elements because i usually suspect something is happening. Hehehehe!  I am not fully over it yet.
Relationships are tough, people go through the ups and downs and we as a couple have had our share of that. Having a private moment was not to offend anyone, it was God's appointed time and No, I am not pregnant. Lol.  Having a baby is a precious gift from God and when that time is right, I am sure he will bless us with ours. Without boring you all, cos you mean so much to me, I have decided to share some of the pictures from the happiest day of my life.
Thank you all for your endless prayers, emails, calls and support. Our wedding dates (Engagement and Blessings) will be announced soonish.

"Not having sex for 2 years feels good" -Dencia says in new interview

The singer and businesswoman tells Encomium magazine
"Sex is overrated and sex is for lovers who are trying to make babies. I am not trying to do so, it is not in my agenda. Not having sex for two years feels good. I am saving energy and mileage. I have better things to waste energy on. I want to wait till after marriage because I am not in a rush. Marriage is a commitment. I just don't see myself falling inlove, having sex and being both heart broken. I have never been heartbroken. I can't take a heartbreak..and men these days expect anything from them. To avoid heartbreak, if I meet any serious man we will meet the families, no sex for over six months, so in the process they might find out they don't like me so I can quit easily."

"My man can't cheat on me because I satisfy him in everything" - Angela Okorie

Ex Delta soap model cum actress, Angela Okorie in a chat with Sunday Express Entertainment says it takes a man who doesn't get everything from his wife to cheat on her. When asked if she can ever leave her matrimonial home on the bases of infidelity, the pretty actress responded:
"In the first place, it will take a lot before my husband can go for another woman. That can only happen when I don't satisfy him in everything, which I do. It is only when a woman does not satisfy her man in everything that he goes in search of other women." (Erm..I don't think I agree with this). She continues " I've never caught my husband with another woman, so I don't believe all men are polygamous in nature. I don't think so. There are good men and I married one."

Picture of nun who gave birth and claimed she didn't know she was pregnant

33 year old Roxana Rodriguez, a nun with the order of the Little Disciples of Jesus, initially claimed she thought her labour pains were 'stomach cramps' when an ambulance rushed her to the hospital.

Her picture was published this weekend in the Italian daily newspaper, Corriere Della Sera. The new mum reportedly told her social worker:
'I am so happy. I feel more of a mother than a nun, I think that's obvious. I decided to call him Francis in honour of our wonderful south American Pope. I do not feel of guilt. I will be keeping him and bringing him up. He is a gift from God. I am little worried about all the publicity, not only in Italy but in El Salvador and all over the world. Everyone is talking about this and I don't think I will be able to return to my home country"
Sister Roxana took her vows and became a nun in the order last September and has since written an apology letter to the Church and her Mother Superior. She revealed that the father of her child is a man from her native El Salvador but has not named him. Continue...

A priest close to the new mum told the Italian magazine:
'It all happened last spring, around March or April time when she was back in El Salvador to get her passport renewed. She has not said who the father is but I understand he is an, shall we say, old flame of hers from when she was younger. At some stage I expect she will tell the father that he has a son and they will be reunited but I don't know when that will be.'
