Pastor locks couple in handcuffs

The congregation in a Kenyan church named Nakuru Metro Church were puzzled during a wedding ceremony on Sunday after the presiding pastor locked the couple in handcuffs.

Bishop Mike Brawan said the rather unusual exercise was meant to symbolically communicate the importance of marriage and that it should be respected by either party.

It is only the two who will be chained together. May any third party be condemned,” he said.

Mr Brawan said that officiating the ceremony was an interesting experience since he had never presided over an ‘economical’ wedding.

The man of God preferred to use handcuffs over wedding rings in uniting Dennis Kariuki and Cecilia Wanjira.

He, however, did not disclose where he got the handcuffs from.

It was only after Kariuki and Wanjira signed the marriage certificate that they were allowed out of the cuffs.
