Man kills girlfriend and her cousin with hammer, Gauteng

A 26-year old man was arrested on Tuesday for the brutal murder of his girlfriend and her cousin.

Gauteng police said the man hit both of the victims over the head with a hammer, before stabbing his girlfriend 15 times.

The murder occurred  in the north of Pretoria.

After the murder, he allegedly fled the scene with the couple’s two children to his home in Dube, Soweto, before calling the deceased’s mother to notify her of where her daughter’s body is.

The police’s Petunia Chabangu said “he used the hammer to assault the girlfriend and her cousin on the head and stabbed his girlfriend more than 15 times on the upper body and the head. The cousin was stabbed nine times on the upper body and the head.
