A 43-year-old man, Opeyemi Adesina, who allegedly paraded himself as a consultant gynaecologist with the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, says he paid N100,000 to buy the seven forged certificates he used.
Adesina was arrested on Tuesday in Ketu area Lagos state.

Adesina was arrested after his landlord, identified as Akorede, wrote a petition to LUTH alleging that Adesina usually brings in female patient to his house to treat, and when confronted he claims he is a gynecologist working with LUTH and that he brings this patients to his house so that he can have time to treat them well.

It was learnt that LUTH could not find his name amongst the list of consultants and however forwarded the case to the police who later arrested Adesina.

The police recovered the fake certificates which included, fake MBBS certificate of the University of Ibadan, and a fake membership certificate of the Nigerian Medical Association.

Adesina said he paid N100,000 to one Kolawole in Ibadan, Oyo State, to get the certificates, adding that he had used them for only three years. He also stated that he doesn't know were kolawole stays or how to locate him.

Adesina says he dropped out in his 500level medical school due to financial problems and actually met his wife during the process of his fake medical practise who also came for treatments, he denied the landlords allegations and said he only conducts tests for them and when the results come out he refers them to the hospital.
The certificates has been recovered and he would be charged to court soon.
