Woman found dead at Burger King car park after telling workers she was unable to drive

An elderly woman was found dead in a Burger King car park days after telling a fast food worker she was too scared to drive home in blizzard conditions, it was reported.

The 78-year-old's body was discovered in her car in the parking lot in New Jersey on Monday morning, three daysafter Storm Jonas dumped a record amount of snow on the region.

The woman is believed to have stayed in her Cadillac after leaving the restaurant in Hackensack, where temperatures plummeted at night.

Workers told NJ.com they noticed the vehicle in the car park but did not think anything of it as many cars were covered in snow.

The cause of death is not yet known but a post mortem is due to take place.

Police said the death could be weather related.
